What
I've Learned Since Graduation
Watch for and embrace change (fighting it hurts!).
The
Last 35 Years
After SMU, I married & moved to Oklahoma. I
worked & pursued a MSW; my husband worked on a M.D./PhD. After completing
our studies (& being single again) a business opportunity moved me to
Austin, Texas. When that business was sold, I began working for UT. There
were other faulty attempts to grow a family of my own, but... I am blessed
with 3 god-children & 5 great nieces & nephews. To complete the circle, I
returned to Dallas (where all my family lives) to work with UT-Dallas.
If you would have asked me when we left Sunset
what my life would be like, I wouldn't have imagined how it would really
turn out. At graduation I thought I would never loose track of many of
you; that I would have tons of kids & have a private practice allowing me
influence adoption laws..."Best laid plans".. Life has been a
wonder-filled, roller-coaster ride. At times, it seemed really scary; at
other times, I just coasted along. I would have to say, it's been a pretty
good ride, so far.
